Meet Dr. Tawnia Adams, the powerhouse & dedicated founder of Tawnia’s NextLevel Training (TNT). As a Functional Strength, Speed, and Conditioning Coach, & owner of Adams Radiology Consultants, LLC, she brings a unique blend of science-backed expertise & real-world athletic experience to every client she trains & program she writes. With board certification as an athlete-focused Chiropractic Physician & Chiropractic Musculoskeletal Radiologist, her in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, & nutrition help Dr. Adams optimize training for performance, longevity, & injury prevention. Combined with 40 years of weightlifting experience, this knowledge sets her apart from the average fitness trainer.

In Her Own Words:

My Weightlifting Journey: Although I played competitive sports growing up, I wasn’t introduced to weightlifting until my undergraduate years. At first, I was drawn to it for the aesthetics—I had an athletic build & wasn’t destined for curves but found I could shape my physique through strength training. Later, while in Chiropractic College, I discovered bodybuilding, set a goal to compete, & was hooked.

I continued lifting & competing, earning multiple state & national-level titles, even during my radiology residency. Training was non-negotiable; just like studying & classes. Fortunately, my future husband was a rugby player who also lifted, which made staying consistent easier as we often trained together.

After having three children, my focus shifted, & training became less frequent. As my kids grew & began competitive sports, we introduced them to weightlifting to improve their performance, which reignited my own passion. Now, I mix up my training—some days focusing on strength, muscular hypertrophy, or endurance—blending functional fitness, sport-specific movements, & traditional lifting to keep my workouts effective & well-rounded. This multi-faceted training style allows me to better serve my clients & meet their specific goals.

I bring more than just workouts—I guide my clients with science-backed, performance-driven methods. Because I’ve experienced the highs and lows of training & dieting firsthand, I truly understand what my clients go through—whether it’s pushing past plateaus, overcoming setbacks, or finding the motivation to stay consistent.

My Reason:

At TNT, we believe in finding your reason—not your excuse. For me, that reason is my husband & three children. I want to set a strong example for them—showing them the importance of taking care of their bodies, staying active, & pushing through challenges. Fitness isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling strong, staying healthy, & having the energy to enjoy life. Whether it’s hiking, playing sports, or simply keeping up with my kids, I want to be able to do what I love for years to come. That’s why I train—not for perfection, but for longevity, strength, & the ability to fully live my life.
